Looking after your mental health is the single most important thing you can do for yourself and your family, but I also know how hard, frightening and embarrassing it can be to even admit you need some help. Your GP should be your first option as they can refer you to your local mental health services and also discuss the option of medication. If you don’t feel ready to go to your doctor just yet though, the following resources might be of some help:
MIND are a fantastic charity, and have every bit of information on each different mental health issue you will need on their website.
ANXIETY UK helped me a lot, just knowing how common anxiety is gave me comfort and reassurance. Their website contains a wealth of knowledge, support and information.
PANDAS are the UK’s leading support service for families suffering with any pre/postnatal illness. They have a fantastic online group support, and even a group just for dads.
THE SAMARITANS are always on hand if you need urgent support or just someone to talk to.
